A moving autorickshaw suddenly exploded in Karnataka’s Mangaluru on Saturday, causing fire and heavy smoke. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has given information about the alleged bomb blast in Mangaluru on Saturday. He said that after investigation it has come to light that it was not an accident but a terrorist attack. Not only this, it has also been learned that the suspect who carried out the bombings had terrorist links. He had traveled to various places including Coimbatore in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. He said that when the background check of the suspect was done, it was found that the name written in the Aadhaar card recovered from the spot was different from that of the person who was carrying it. The suspect had a duplicate Aadhaar card. It had the address of Hubli. Further details emerged after the police traced the suspect’s original address and his places of stay.

He said that officials of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) are also accompanying the state police to investigate the matter. A four-member NIA team has reached the spot and is coordinating with the police. He added that at the moment, the suspect is in the hospital. Further action will be taken after he regains consciousness. Investigation will reveal more. There is a wide network which will be busted. During this, when asked about the link with PFI, he said that the truth will come out after investigation.

Police suspect that the man had links with those who carried out a car blast in Coimbatore before Diwali in October.
