In the history of Chardham Yatra, a new record of pilgrims has been created in Kedarnath Dham. More than 11 lakh devotees visited Baba Kedar during the four-month journey. Earlier in 2019, the number of passengers reached 10 lakhs in the entire travel season. The same, 12,44,100 had reached Badrinath Dham in the year 2019. Whereas during this journey so far 11,76,666 pilgrims have reached the Dham for darshan. In such a situation, now this time Chardham Yatra is also on the way to make a new record.

In the Chardham Yatra of the year 2019, a total of more than 34 lakh devotees visited Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham and made a record. The travel was affected due to the Kovid epidemic for two years. As soon as the yatra started this year, there was a rush of devotees for darshan in the Chardhams, to control which the government had to fix the number of daily darshans in the Dhams.

On May 6, as soon as the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened, more than 20 thousand pilgrims had reached for darshan. In four months, the figure crossed 11 lakhs, which became a record in history. Expressing happiness over the arrival of record pilgrims in Chardham Yatra, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the state government is committed to serve the pilgrims according to the smooth Chardham Yatra and Atithi Devo Bhava.

Tourism Secretary and CEO of Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council Sachin Kurve said that this time the number of pilgrims in Chardham Yatra will set a new record. So far, more than 33 lakh pilgrims have visited Chardham and Hemkund Sahib, while in September more than five lakh pilgrims have registered for Darshan.
