The Prime Minister of Pakistan is on a two-day visit to Beijing. On Wednesday, he met with Chinese President Xi Jinping. During this, China promised to provide high-speed train technology and financial help to Pakistan.

President Xi Jinping said that China would continue to support the $60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPAC), reported Xinhua, China’s state-run news agency. Along with this, he assured Shahbaz Sharif that China is concerned about the financial stability of Pakistan. China will also continue to support Pakistan to make it financially stable.

Actually, Pakistan has a debt of about $ 27 billion, of which more than $ 23 billion is from China. Even after repeatedly taking loans from all international borrowers including China, Pakistan is currently facing a serious economic crisis. Apart from this, the Pakistani economy has also suffered tremendous losses due to the first scorching heat and later the devastating floods, due to which Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves are on the verge of being depleted.

However, Xi Jinping assured Shahbaz Sharif at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing that Pakistan would continue to receive financial aid from China. Simultaneously, Jinping has asked Sharif to expedite the completion of projects related to CPAC, so that further work on new projects can be started.
