Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has sent a legal notice to the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday. During the tenure of the then Chairman (LG) of Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), allegations of corruption were made by Durgesh Pathak, Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, MP Sanjay Singh and Jasmin Shah. Considering these allegations to be false and defamatory, the Lieutenant Governor has decided to take legal action.

In the notice, the Lieutenant Governor has accused him of maligning his image and spreading fake news. AAP leaders have been asked to reply on this in the next 48 hours.

Earlier, in a direct attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener and the Chief Minister of Delhi, the Lieutenant Governor had said that Arvind Kejriwal in desperation is accusing me of corruption by taking recourse to false allegations under the politics of diversion. It would not be surprising if such baseless personal attacks are made on me or my family in the next few days.

Last week, AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak had accused the Lieutenant Governor of being involved in corruption to the tune of Rs 1,400 crore in the Delhi Assembly. Pathak had alleged that the current Lieutenant Governor of Delhi as the Chairman of Khadi Village Industries Commission has committed a scam of Rs 1,400 crore. The incident happened in 2016 demonetisation. According to Pathak, during the demonetisation, the present Lieutenant Governor changed the old notes on a large scale. After demonetisation, he converted black money into white. Its entire process went under the Khadi Village Industries Commission. The poor cashiers of the commission who exposed this were Sanjeev Kumar and Pradeep Yadav, from whom this work was forcibly done. Rs 22 lakh was manipulated in their branch itself. In this way, the corruption of the entire country has been done between 7,000 to 1,400 crores. They complained about this on every forum. Despite this, the accused himself presided over the investigation and suspended both the complainants.
