Former Haryana Governor and former Speaker of Bihar Legislative Assembly Dhanik Lal Mandal passed away at the age of 90. Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Chief Minister Manohar Lal paid tribute to Mandal.

On the other hand, CM Manohar Lal said that it was very sad to hear about the demise of former Haryana Governor Dhanik Lal Mandal. Mandal will always be remembered as an able statesman, administrator and a social worker. Mandal served as the Governor of Haryana between 1990 and 1995.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also condoled the death of the socialist leader in a tweet. He described Mandal’s death as an irreparable loss to society and Indian politics and a personal loss to him. Nitish Kumar said that the last rites of Mandal would be performed with state honours.
Born on March 30, 1932, in Belha, Madhubani, Bihar, Mandal was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly thrice in 1967, 1969 and 1972. He was the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1967. Mandal was elected to the Lok Sabha in 1977 and served as the Minister of State for Home until January 1980. He was elected to the Lok Sabha for the second time in 1980.
