Records set in food distribution
The state has set a record by distributing a total of 200 lakh metric tonnes of food grains from April 2020 to March 2022 in the distribution of ration started by the Central and State Governments during the Corona period. The state government has done the work of distributing ration to every poor and destitute people through 80 thousand kotedars.

Under the free ration scheme, 35 kg ration along with food items like pulses, sugar, edible oil, salt is being given to the beneficiary families. Ration distribution is currently being done in the fifth phase under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Free distribution of 8 lakh metric tonnes of food grains worth Rs 195 crore was made by the state government between April and June, 2020 to all Antyodaya cards and eligible household card holders who were registered laborers in MNREGA labor department and municipal bodies in the state. At the same time, a total of 12 thousand metric tonnes of food grains and 1100 metric tonnes of gram were distributed free of cost to the migrant/blocked migrant laborers under the Atma Nirbhar Bharat scheme.
