Public sector company GAIL India Limited is going to issue bonus shares to its investors. The Government Maharatna Company is issuing this bonus share in the ratio of 1:2. This would mean that the company would issue one bonus share for every two shares it owns. The shares of GAIL India are trading on the ex-bonus date of 6th September 2022. Bonus issue record will be released tomorrow i.e. on 7th September 2022. On the ex-bonus date, the company’s shares have a bullish trend. At present, the shares of the government company are trading at a price of Rs 93.10 on the Bombay Stock Exchange, with a gain of about one percent. The company’s shares closed at a price of 136.75 on the previous trading day.

GAIL is issuing bonus shares for the fifth time in 15 years

GAIL India is going to issue boner shares for the fifth time in the last 15 years. The public sector company had first issued bonus shares in the ratio of 1:2 in October 2008. Thereafter bonus shares were issued by GAIL in the ratio of 1:3 in March 2017. Later in July 2019, bonus shares were issued in the ratio of 1:1. This time the company is issuing bonus shares for the fifth time.

GAIL’s profit up 51% in the first quarter of this financial year

GAIL’s profit grew by 51% in the first quarter of this financial year due to increased margins in the gas marketing business. GAIL India has reported a profit of Rs 3250.9 crore for the quarter ended June 2022. The company’s profit in the first quarter of last year was Rs 2157 crore. At the same time, the turnover of the company increased to Rs 38,033 crore in the first quarter of April to June. The turnover of the company in the corresponding period last year was Rs 17,702 crore.
