A 19-year-old girl student died after allegedly committing suicide in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district. According to the information, the student took this step after failing to clear the NEET-UG exam. The results of the examination were declared last night. She was found hanging at her residence. According to the information, the girl student gave up her life shortly after the declaration of the result.

There have been many cases before

Soon after coming to know about the incident, the girl’s family took her to KMC Hospital in Chennai, but she was declared brought dead. Police has sent the body for post-mortem. This is not the first case of suicide of a NEET student in Tamil Nadu. A day before the exam, in July, a girl student committed suicide in Tamil Nadu’s Ariyalur for fear of failing in the exam. Earlier in July, an 18-year-old NEET student had also committed suicide under pressure from exams.

What is the result of the exam?

NEET UG 2022 exam was conducted on July 17, 2022. 18 lakh 72 thousand 343 students had registered in the examination. Out of these, 17 lakh 64 thousand 571 students had given the exam. 10 lakh 01 thousand 15 girl students and 07 lakh 63 thousand 545 students are included in the examination. Out of these, a total of 09 lakh 93 thousand 69 students have been declared eligible for counselling. From Tamil Nadu 1,32,167 candidates had appeared for the exam. Of these, 67,787 have been declared successful.
