The decision of the district court will come on Monday in the matter of regular darshan worship of Maa Shringar Gauri located in Gyanvapi complex of Varanasi. In the court of District Judge Dr. Ajay Krishna Vishwesh, Gyanvapi Shringar Gauri will pronounce the verdict on the maintainability of the case, that is, whether the case is maintainable or not. In May and June, this matter was the subject of discussion all over the country.

Now the administration of Varanasi has become fully alert before the court’s decision. On Sunday, intensive checking of the court premises was done. The police along with the Bomb Disposal Squad and the Dog Squad did round-the-clock checking. Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh appealed to everyone for peace and Section 144 was also imposed in the city.

The district judge had reserved the decision
On the orders of the Supreme Court, the arguments of all the parties in the Shringar Gauri case in the court of the District Judge were completed on August 24 and the District Judge had reserved the decision till September 12. In fact, in this case, the then Civil Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar had issued the order of the survey. After this a survey of the premises of Gyanvapi Masjid was done.

After this survey, it was claimed to have a Shivling in the mosque’s vazukhana, while the Muslim side called it a fountain. The controversy in this case increased so much that the Anjuman Intejamia Committee went to the Supreme Court against the survey. The Supreme Court had sent the case to the District Judge’s court to decide whether the matter was maintainable or not.

Let us inform here that more than half a dozen cases related to Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Gyanvapi Masjid are pending in different courts. A thorough checking of the court premises was done on Sunday before the decision came in the district judge’s court.

The case of Shringar Gauri regular darshan worship was filed by Rakhi Singh and other four women in Varanasi court. In the case, the Muslim side i.e. Anjuman Intejamiya Masajid Committee claims that the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 will be applicable in the Gyanvapi campus. That is, the condition of the religious place on the day of the country’s independence will remain the same.

Women from the Hindu side claim that the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991 will not apply in Gyanvapi. There, after the independence of the country, till the year 1991, Maa Shringar Gauri was worshipped.

Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said that a meeting of all police officers has been held in view of the possibility of pronouncement of judgment in the important matter in the court. Section 144 has been imposed and sector scheme has been implemented. All the Thanedars, ACPs, ADCPs and DCPs have been asked to do duty with extra vigilance. Instructions have been given to conduct flag march and foot patrolling in sensitive areas with mixed population.
