Some technical fault occurred in the engine of Indigo flight going from Delhi to Udaipur. Because of this, the plane had to return to Delhi midway. An IndiGo aircraft returned to the national capital on Thursday due to engine tremors, a senior Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) official said. The plane was going to Udaipur. DGCA has started investigation into the incident.

Thus, this is the second such incident in a day when an aircraft returned to Delhi airport due to a technical snag. The vibration was detected in Engine-2 of the A-320 Neo aircraft during an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Udaipur, the official said. After this the plane landed safely in Delhi. IndiGo’s statement on the incident is awaited.

Earlier in the day, a SpiceJet plane had to return midway due to an “autopilot” fault. The aircraft carrying 89 passengers had left for Nashik from the national capital. DGCA will also investigate this incident.
