In the session 2022-23, 17 lakh illiterate people will be made literate in the state. Under the Nav Bharat Saksharta Abhiyan, instructions have been given to the Basic Education Officers and Diet Principals of all the districts to identify the illiterate. Not only this, a list of volunteer teachers is also being prepared village, township and majra-wise for educating the identified illiterates.
