Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday met former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala at his residence in Gurugram. Nitish is on an official visit to Delhi after breaking the alliance with the BJP in Bihar. Party general secretary KC Tyagi also accompanied him.
Both the leaders also talked to former UP Chief Ministers Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav in private for about an hour. Many political meanings are being extracted from this meeting of theirs. It is being speculated that a big political announcement can be made on the birthday of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal on September 25.
Before coming to Gurugram, Nitish has met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in Delhi. An old friend of Bihar Chief Minister Omprakash Chautala and KC Tyagi, he has also attended Devi Lal’s birthday several times. Reached the residence of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala at around 3 pm on Tuesday and spoke to him. After meeting for about an hour, both the JD(U) leaders reached Medanta Hospital.
Here former UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav is getting his treatment. Nitish Kumar and KC Tyagi inquired about Mulayam Singh’s health. Mulayam Singh Yadav is admitted here since last August 22. After this, he met Akhilesh Yadav, the former Chief Minister of UP, who was present in the hospital itself, in a closed room. Nitish will join the rally with Tejashwi Yadav

Tyagi said on the occasion of the birthday of former Deputy Prime Minister Devi Lal, various opposition leaders would come together on one platform and this would be an appropriate occasion to discuss various issues. OP Chautala claimed that people are fed up with the BJP and an atmosphere is being created in the country against the ruling party at the Centre. He said the September 25 rally would not only show opposition unity but also anger against the BJP government. He said that all Samajwadi and former Janata Dal leaders should come on one platform.
The INLD has been organizing public rallies on the birthday of its founder Devi Lal and has been inviting various leaders of opposition parties other than the Congress.

In a show of opposition unity, INLD has invited Sharad Pawar, Akhilesh Yadav and Farooq Abdullah for its September 25 rally, which will also be attended by Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav. INLD national general secretary said former prime minister and leader HD Deve Gowda, SAD chief Parkash Singh Badal and Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik have also been invited to the rally. Chautala said that invitations would also be sent to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Chandrababu Naidu and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
