Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the conference of environment ministers of states and union territories on Friday. The Prime Minister will address the two-day conference organized in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat through virtual medium. The conference will focus on increasing the forest area with special emphasis on wildlife conservation. The two-day conference, to be held on September 23 and 24, will have six sessions. These include topics such as life, challenges of climate change, environment planning for single window evacuation facility for environmental projects, forest management, pollution control and prevention, wildlife management and plastic and waste management.
These issues will be discussed
Taking forward the spirit of cooperative federalism, topics related to combating the challenge of climate change effectively, preventing plastic pollution and keeping in mind the Lifestyle for Environment (LIFE) will be discussed. Along with this, issues like action plans of the states on the issues of plastic waste management, wildlife and forest management will be discussed. The purpose of the event is to create coordination between the states and the central government for better implementation of the policies of the center.
The central government is strengthening the spirit of Team India and cooperative federalism
The Central Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving no stone unturned to strengthen the spirit of Team India and cooperative federalism and to connect the policy makers of the state with the national vision. PM Modi has already started events that nurture the spirit of Team India on several occasions. For example, on September 10, PM Modi inaugurated the Centre-State Science Conference in Ahmedabad through video conferencing. Before that, on August 25, Modi had instilled national consciousness among the labor ministers of the states by addressing them at the National Labor Conference. Modi had also reached the two-day national conference of chief secretaries in Dharamsala on June 16. In the first of its kind, he taught the country’s senior most bureaucrats the lessons of policy making and implementation. PM Modi also inaugurated a joint conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts on 30 April.
Modi increased dialogue with states from the time of Corona
The spirit of Team India is being continuously nurtured by organizing various national conferences under the leadership of PM Modi. The best example of this is PM Modi’s communication with the states and union territories during the corona epidemic. From March 2020 to April 2022, the Prime Minister has presided over 20 such meetings with the Chief Ministers, Chief Secretaries of the states.
Confidence to Modi, State-Centre coordination is the only solution to the challenges
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has full faith that only by coordination between the states and the center, the biggest challenge can be overcome. He is following this mantra and helping the country to reap a rich dividend. This same coordination of theirs also came in handy in the successful implementation of the world’s largest Kovid vaccination program.
From 2014 till now, PM reached every conference of DGP IGP
PM Modi also showed special interest in policing and participated in every annual conference of DGP-IGP held since 2014. The annual event, which was traditionally held in Delhi before 2014, started being organized in different parts of the country after the Modi government came to power. During the Corona epidemic, this event did not stop in 2020 and Modi attended the conference through video conferencing. This annual conference was organized in Guwahati in 2014, Rann Kutch in 2015, National Police Academy at Hyderabad in 2016, BSF Academy at Tekanpur in 2017, Kevadiya in 2018, IISER in Pune in 2019 and Lucknow in 2021.
National conferences held on many issues
Under the Modi government, national conferences were organized on all issues like doubling farmers’ income, women’s development, environment, culture, sports, e-governance. Where experts gathered from all over the country gave their views on related issues and got public opinion. Modi has participated in seven meetings of the NITI Aayog Governing Council over the past eight years to develop a national perspective on policy matters involving all stakeholders of Team India. Similarly, Modi also addressed several national conferences of governors.
