The Supreme Court today gave a big relief to senior journalist Navika Kumar in the Prophet Mohammad dispute case. The top court ordered the transfer of FIRs filed against him in several states of the country to the IFSC unit of Delhi Police. In the case, former BJP leader Nupur Sharma has also been given similar relief in the past.
The Supreme Court has also ordered not to take any coercive action against Navika Kumar for eight weeks, so that she can take appropriate steps to get these FIRs quashed. He is also free to approach the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of the FIR.

Let us tell you, the TV show in which Nupur Sharma had allegedly said objectionable things against Prophet Mohammad, was being conducted by Navika Kumar. In this case, police cases were registered against Nupur as well as Navika Kumar in many states.
A bench of Supreme Court Justice MR Shah and Justice Krishna Murari today ordered collusion of all the FIRs filed against Navika Kumar and transfer them to Delhi Police. The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of Delhi Police will investigate the matter.
Earlier on August 8, the apex court had granted an interim stay on the arrest of Navika Kumar. Along with this, by issuing notices to the Central Government, West Bengal Government, and other State Governments, a reply was sought on the petition to quash the action against Navika Kumar. Nupur Sharma’s statement had created a ruckus across the country and the Gulf countries also reacted sharply to it. In Udaipur and Aurangabad, there were cases of heinous killings with threats like ‘head tan se juda’.
