Congress President Rahul Gandhi made a big statement on Friday. He presented his side for the first time on the question of accepting the party’s presidency. Rahul said that he has decided whether he wants to become the Congress President or not and will give his answer during the election itself.
During a conversation with reporters, Rahul said that I have made up my mind and I am very clear. Whether I will become the president or not will come to the fore on the day the party elections will be held. Please wait till that day.
Significantly, Rahul Gandhi is currently participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra. This journey has been kept from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Gandhi has said that he is not leading the yatra, but is merely a part of it. He said that the padyatra is an attempt to understand what is happening at the ground level and at the same time it is an attempt to compensate for the loss done by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Rahul Gandhi said, “BJP-Sangh are free to express their opinion, but we are doing this ‘yatra’ to connect with the people. He said that all the institutions are now under the control of the BJP and they are being used to put pressure on the opposition.
Rahul, who is proceeding from ‘Vivekananda Polytechnic’ here after starting his padyatra along with 118 other “Bharat Yatris” and many other senior leaders and workers, said, “I have decided, I will I am very clear, I will answer when the party elections are held. If I do not contest for the post of Congress President, you can ask me a question and then I will answer why I did not contest.
