The security forces exercised restraint and asked them to surrender, but they did not agree. Firing continued from the terrorists. Meanwhile, the security forces also started retaliatory action. One by one, two terrorists were killed. Ali Mohammad Ganey, a resident of Bomai was injured in the cross firing, who has been sent to the Srinagar hospital.

A jawan was also injured during the operation. He has been taken to the local hospital. ADG Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the slain terrorists have been identified as Mohammad Rafi of Sopore and Kaiser Ashraf of Pulwama. Both were local leaders of Jaish.

Rafi was also booked under PSA twice earlier. Both the terrorists were involved in various crimes. He was plotting to attack civilians in Sopore.
