Giving information about the decision of the cabinet, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has said that in the cabinet meeting, approval has been given to start a new scheme for the establishment of ‘PMShri’ schools. Pradhan has said that more than 14,000 Kendriya and Navodaya Vidyalayas in the country will be strengthened and developed as PMShri Schools.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that the Union Cabinet has approved the new scheme for setting up PM-SHRI schools. The aim of the school will be to make the student ready to go in the world in a competitive way after passing 12th. About 20 lakh students will be staying in these schools.

Simultaneously, the Union Cabinet has approved the policy on long-term leasing of railway land to implement the PM Gati Shakti framework. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur has said that 300 cargo terminals will be developed in the coming five years.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that today the Cabinet chaired by PM Modi has approved the proposal of Ministry of Railways to combine New Land Policy of Railways to implement PM Gati Shakti Framework. In this, amendments have been made in the activities related to cargo, public utility, exclusive use of railways.

He said that these amendments will lead to integrated development of infrastructure and cargo terminals in the land policy of the Railways. The policy of long-term leasing of railway land to implement the PM Gati Shakti framework will be implemented in the next 90 days.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that in this amendment provision has been made for long term leasing of railway land for cargo and for cargo related activities for a period of 35 years at the rate of 1.5% of the market value of the land per annum. Over 300 PM Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals will be developed in the next 5 years. It will have more than 1,25,000 employment opportunities. This will also increase the share of Railways in freight traffic.
