The report of the Levana Suites Hotel fire incident, standing on the foundation of corruption and complicity of officers, was handed over to Principal Secretary Home Sanjay Prasad late on Friday night. According to official sources, in the investigation of Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob and Police Commissioner SB Shirdkar, mainly the officials of Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) and Fire Department have been found guilty. The inquiry report recommended action against them.

According to sources, important suggestions have also been given in the investigation report to prevent incidents like Levana fire incident in future. Meanwhile, the LDA has handed over a list of 200 illegally built hotels in the capital to the government and the Divisional Commissioner. Out of these, orders have been issued to seal 60 illegal hotels. The government had sought a list of illegal hotels from the LDA against which it had claimed action. In this regard, a letter was also sent to LDA on behalf of Secretary Housing Ajay Chauhan on Friday.

In fact, seeing the strangulation in the Levana case, the LDA had recommended disciplinary action to mislead the government on the same day, holding 22 engineers responsible for the illegal construction. To cool the matter, it was also told that action is going on against 140 illegal hotels. On this a list of illegal hotels was summoned. Earlier, Principal Secretary Housing Nitin Ramesh Gokarn had also called for a list of officers concerned, objecting to blaming only engineers for illegal construction.

In the list of illegal hotels submitted by the LDA to the government, it has been told that what are the shortcomings in them? Most of the hotels are such for which maps have not been approved by LDA. First of all, those hotels are being sealed whose map is not approved. After this, action will be taken against such hotels whose land use is wrong.
